Somatic practices are body-based approaches to wellness that use awareness, breath, movement, posture, and sensation to support the connection between the body and nervous system. The word “somatic” comes from the Greek word soma, meaning body.

The core idea is that stress, emotion, and life experiences are not only processed through the mind; they can also show up in the body through tension, breath patterns, posture, sensitivity, and the way the nervous system responds to the world around us.

Through intentional body-centered and supportive wellness practices such as gentle movement, breathwork, body awareness, Reiki, reflexology, and sound healing, clients are invited to slow down, notice what they are experiencing, and support the body’s natural ability to return to a more grounded and regulated state.

These practices help create space for rest, relaxation, and reconnection. They are not a replacement for medical or mental health care, but they can be part of a broader self-care routine that supports grounding, presence, and overall well-being.
