ALoveChoreo Studio Guidelines

1. Arrive Prepared

Come a few minutes early to get settled, stretch, & get ready to move. Beginning class on time shows respect for yourself, your instructor, & the group energy we create together.

2. Respect the Space & Each Other

The studio is a shared space built on intention & care. Keep the studio clean, be considerate, & bring good energy into the room.

3. Be Open to Growth

Every dancer’s journey is unique. Stay curious, explore new challenges, & receive feedback as an opportunity to strengthen your artistry & confidence.

4. Stay Present

Silence distractions & give your full attention to the class. Listen, connect with the rhythm of the room, & let movement be your focus for this time you’ve set aside just for you.

5. Move Safely & Confidently

Check the attire guidelines for the class you’re attending & come dressed to move with comfort, safety, & intention. Communicate with us if you’re running late or need to adjust movement for your body. Leave class feeling grounded, inspired, & proud.

Class Attire

Wear clothing that helps you move freely & feel confident. Choose fitted, flexible pieces like leggings, dance pants, or fitted tops so instructors can see alignment & movement. Avoid jeans or restrictive fabrics. For every class, long hair should be pulled back & secured, & all dangling jewelry should be removed before class begins.

Warm-ups such as sweatshirts, long sleeves, or joggers are welcome during colder months, but once your body warms up, please remove extra layers so instructors can clearly see your body placement & provide feedback to help you move properly & safely.

Reset & Recharge (Stretch, Balance & Strengthening)

We ask that dancers wear Capezio dance socks for stability & safety. Dancers are also welcome to bring your own exercise bands or yoga blocks. The studio also provides some for use during class.

Contemporary & Improv/Choreography

Half soles, lyrical shoes, or Capezio dance socks are recommended for smooth transitions & floorwork. Dancers should also bring a journal to class for reflection, choreography notes, and creative prompts. You’re welcome to bring your own, or you can purchase an ALoveChoreo journal at the studio.

Saturday Select Style Classes

For rotating styles such as Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, or Musical Theater, clean sneakers or character/jazz shoes may be best depending on the week’s focus. Check our YouTube page for posts & updates on which shoes are recommended for upcoming Saturday classes.

Restorative Dance

Supportive dance shoes are strongly encouraged for comfort & grip during movement.

Where to Shop

All class attire & footwear can be found at Nancy’s Dance Shop, located just upstairs from our studio. Nancy has served the dance community for over 20 years & carries Capezio dance socks, shoes, & apparel perfectly suited for ALoveChoreo classes. We encourage our dancers to shop locally with Nancy to support her small business & to ensure you have the right attire for class.
